Meet Our Staff and Listen to the Book

 

First Day of School

Monday, August 31, 2026 (Dismissal @ 1:35 p.m.)

On Monday, August 31, 2026, students may begin arriving at school at 8:45 a.m., with the school day        beginning at 9:00 a.m.
  • We encourage children to follow their typical arrival routine beginning on the very first day of           school. 
  • Families who are driving their children to school should use our designated drop-off area rather than parking and walking children into the building. 
  • To help us establish safe and consistent arrival routines, families will say their goodbyes outside, and students will be supported by our staff as they make their way to their classrooms.
We know the first day is a big moment, and our team will be ready to welcome and cheer on every child!
If your child has a change in dismissal: 
  • Dismissal Change: Please update this form on the day the change will occur. 
  • YMCA: The  YMCA (LEAP) program will begin on September 2, 2026.  Please update your child's       dismissal plan for the first two days of school using  this form.  
  • Bus Transportation: Please remember that during the first week of school, bus arrival times may vary as everyone adjusts to the new school year. Please plan to be outside a few minutes before your      child’s scheduled bus time and be patient if the bus does not arrive exactly as scheduled. 
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we get the year underway!

Reminder: Stepney Reads Together

As we get ready to return to school, here are two quick Flamingo Bingo reminders:
  • Bring your completed Flamingo Bingo board back to school! We can’t wait to see all the ways our    students read, explored, created, and learned this summer. Need another copy? Click here.
  • Share your summer adventures! Add photos of your child and their flamingo to our Flamingo Padlet. Don’t forget to include your flamingo’s name!
